THE LEGACY
On Wednesday, June 21, we held our annual gathering to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Community Foundation for Mason County. Our founders started from scratch, when a small and committed group of thoughtful, well-intentioned community leaders rallied around this big idea… that a Community Foundation might be the perfect place for donors, large and small, to exercise their charitable intentions in a positive way. They got it right, and the community has benefited in countless ways because of their visionary leadership.
Over $13,000,000 has gone back in the community since the start of the Community Foundation thanks to your generosity. It’s hard to look around our community and see an area that hasn’t been supported by the Community Foundation.
We honored the past, celebrated the first 35 years of the Community Foundation impact, and look forward to the next 35. Your Community Foundation is a forever organization. Looking forward to the next 35 years, our community shared what they would like to see, including an increase in housing, childcare, food for those in need, education opportunities, recreation space, and county-wide broadband. We look forward to continuing to work together to build a vibrant community with opportunities for all.
