Nonprofit Agency Funds

More than 50 local nonprofits know that partnering with the Community Foundation offers essential benefits. Establishing a nonprofit agency endowment fund with us is a simple and efficient way to build permanent resources and an ongoing source of income for a nonprofit organization.

We make it easy to start, maintain, and grow a nonprofit agency fund that allows you to steward endowments expertly, while not taking valuable staff time away from your mission.

How it Works:

Give

Transfer cash, stock, or other assets from your organization to create your fund at the Community Foundation, and our team will work with you to draft the fund agreement. You and your supporters can add to the fund at any time.

Grow

The Community Foundation invests funds using diversified pools managed by professional investment managers.

Grant

Set up automatic annual distributions back to your organization, or request them only when needed.

Donor Service, Local Expertise:

The Community Foundation has professional staff and resources available to help you build your endowment fund. In addition to sample messaging and materials on our website, our team is available to answer questions, share ideas, attend donor meetings, and present legacy-giving programs to your board or constituents. We are fellow members of the community who are dedicated to helping build permanent resources to support the good work your organization does.

Community Knowledge and Grantmaking:

We also have professional staff and grant resources available to help you advance your work. We run multiple grant rounds each year, providing funding for projects, large and small, that improve our community. Whether it’s YAC Teacher Mini-Grants, YAC Competitive Grants, YAC Recreation Grants, Community Foundation Strategic Grants, or Traditional or Adult Scholarships, your organization and your constituents have undoubtedly benefited from the investments we make in the community.

Investments and Fees:

As a fundholder of the Community Foundation for Mason County, an affiliate of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, you are a part of a 200+ million investment pool, and your fund enjoys a cost-effective way to build permanent resources to support your work, without the burden of managing investments. And your donors have peace of mind that investments are well-managed. Our administrative fee is 1% per year based on the fund’s average balance.
